Dryopteris crassirhizoma, commonly known as the wood fern, is a robust and architectural fern ideal for shady, woodland gardens in the UK. It forms a handsome clump of upright, deep green, divided fronds, providing excellent texture and year-round interest in a sheltered spot.

Soil: Moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil.

Hardiness: H5 — down to −15°C.
