Snake Plant

While often grown as a houseplant, certain forms of Dracaena trifasciata can be surprisingly resilient in sheltered UK outdoor spots during warmer months, or as striking container plants that can be brought indoors for winter. 'Laurentii' is particularly popular, known for its stiff, upright, sword-like leaves edged with yellow. It's a fantastic architectural plant, adding vertical interest to patios and courtyards. Though it rarely flowers outdoors in the UK, its foliage is the main attraction. It prefers well-drained soil and can tolerate a range of light conditions, though brighter light enhances its colours. Protect from frost.
