Hay-scented fern

Native to North America, the Hay-scented fern (Dennstaedtia punctilobula) is a delicate, bright green fern that spreads readily to form attractive colonies, reminiscent of British woodland undergrowth. Its finely dissected fronds release a distinct hay-like fragrance when crushed. Ideal for naturalising in shady, damp areas of a UK garden, especially effective in wild gardens or borders.

Sun: Partial shade.

Soil: Moist but well-drained.
