Hardy Ice Plant

This vigorous, mat-forming succulent is perfect for adding vibrant colour to rockeries, gravel gardens, or containers in the UK. Producing a profusion of bright pink, daisy-like flowers from early summer well into autumn, it creates a cheerful display. Its succulent, cylindrical leaves are evergreen, providing year-round interest. Delosperma basuticum thrives in full sun and requires exceptionally well-drained soil, tolerating poorer conditions as long as drainage is excellent. It is surprisingly hardy for a succulent, capable of withstanding typical UK winters, especially if protected from excessive winter wet. Ideal for a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant planting scheme.
