Daphne 'Eternal Fragrance'
Daphne × transatlantica 'Eternal Fragrance' is a remarkable semi-evergreen shrub that has transformed the way UK gardeners view Daphnes. Unlike many of its relatives which bloom for a short period, 'Eternal Fragrance' flowers repeatedly on new growth from late spring all the way through to late autumn. The blooms arrive in clusters of pink-tinged white flowers that possess an intense, sweet, spicy perfume. Its habit is naturally neat and compact, forming a rounded mound roughly 90cm high and wide, making it perfect for smaller gardens, large containers, or borders near a patio. It is significantly more sun-tolerant and easier to grow than many other Daphnes, proving quite hardy (H4/H5) in most parts of the UK. It prefers well-drained soil and a position where its roots can stay cool. It is a slow-growing but incredibly rewarding plant that provides months of sensory delight.
