Dahlia 'Yellow Hammer'
'Yellow Hammer' is a superb Single-flowered Dahlia that is particularly valued in the UK for its dwarf habit and striking colour contrast. It produces bright, sunny-yellow flowers with a dark central disc, which are held above exceptionally dark, nearly black foliage. This contrast makes it a standout choice for the front of a border or for use in containers. Reaching only about 40-50cm in height, it doesn't require staking and maintains a neat, rounded shape. It is also highly attractive to pollinators, making it an excellent addition to a wildlife-friendly garden. Cultivate in a sunny spot and deadhead regularly to keep the flowers coming until the frosts arrive. In the UK, the tubers should be lifted and stored for winter. It is a reliable and cheerful plant that brings a long season of interest with minimal effort compared to taller dahlia varieties.
