Dahlia 'Twynings Candy'

'Twynings Candy' is a delightful collarette-type dahlia that brings a playful touch to the garden. It features a ring of large, vibrant magenta-pink outer petals surrounding an inner "collar" of smaller, paler pink and white striped petals, all encircling a central golden disk. This complex flower structure is fascinating up close and very attractive to pollinators. The plant has a robust habit, reaching approximately 1 metre in height. It produces a massive quantity of flowers throughout the summer, making it a great choice for cutting. In the UK, collarette dahlias are often praised for their relative weather resistance compared to the larger decorative types. It should be grown in a sunny spot in fertile soil. Tubers should be lifted after the foliage has been hit by the first frost, dried off, and stored in a cool but frost-free place during the winter. Regular deadheading will ensure a constant supply of new "candy" coloured blooms.
