Dahlia 'Twyning's After Eight' 'Twynings After Eight'

One of the most striking single-flowered dahlias available, 'Twyning's After Eight' is celebrated for the sharp contrast between its near-black, chocolate-toned foliage and its pure white, crystalline flowers. Each bloom features a ring of pristine white petals surrounding a central yellow-gold eye, which is highly attractive to pollinators. The plant has a neat, bushy habit, reaching approximately 90cm in height. It is an excellent choice for a contemporary "monochrome" garden or a mixed border where the dark foliage provides depth and texture even when the plant is not in bloom. In the UK, it is highly regarded for its garden performance and weather resistance. As with most dahlia cultivars, it requires a frost-free winter dormancy. It should be planted out in late May and fed regularly with a high-potash fertiliser to maintain the intensity of the foliage and flower production.
