Dahlia / Cactus Dahlia 'Park Record'

Dahlia 'Park Record' is a classic and very popular semi-cactus dahlia, valued for its warm colour and manageable size. It produces striking, medium-sized blooms with pointed, narrow petals that are a vibrant, glowing shade of orange-vermillion. This variety is particularly garden-worthy because of its dwarf, compact habit, usually reaching only 40-50cm in height, which makes it an excellent choice for the front of a border or for planting in containers where taller dahlias might become top-heavy. As a tender tuberous perennial (H3), it follows the standard UK dahlia routine of being planted out in late spring and lifted for winter storage in autumn. It is a very prolific bloomer, and if regularly deadheaded, it will provide a continuous carpet of fiery orange from midsummer until the end of the season. It prefers a sunny, sheltered site in fertile, well-drained soil and, due to its low height, rarely requires any staking.
