Dahlia 'Hillcrest Candy'
A delightful Cactus Dahlia that produces medium-sized blooms with elegantly pointed, narrow petals. The colour is a charming 'candy' pink with subtle hints of yellow at the base of the petals, giving it a bright and cheerful appearance. In the UK, it is a favourite for its prolific flowering and its ability to add texture to a border with its spiky floral form. It typically grows to a height of about 120cm, so it will require support from canes or a peony cage to keep the stems upright. Like other dahlias, it loves a high-potash feed and regular watering during dry spells. In Britain, tubers must be lifted after the first frost, dried, and stored in a frost-free place. It is particularly effective when planted in groups of three or five to create a large splash of colour. The cut flowers are excellent for brightening up the home in late summer.
