Dahlia 'Classic Elise'

Dahlia 'Classic Elise' is a sophisticated peony-flowered cultivar prized for its elegant colour palette and dark, bronzed foliage. The semi-double blooms are a delicate blend of peachy-apricot and soft yellow, reaching about 10cm in diameter. These warm-toned flowers stand out beautifully against the deep mahogany-green leaves. Growing to roughly 80-90cm tall, it fits perfectly into the middle of a herbaceous border, providing vertical interest and a long season of colour. It is particularly valued in the UK for its sturdy stems which often don't require the heavy staking that taller decorative varieties need. Like all dahlias, it thrives in deep, humus-rich soil and requires regular deadheading to encourage continuous blooming. Tubers must be lifted in late autumn once the foliage has blackened by frost, cleaned, and stored in dry compost or vermiculite in a cool, frost-free shed or garage.
