Italian cypress 'Totem'

Cupressus sempervirens 'Totem' is an exceptionally narrow and upright cultivar of the Italian Cypress, highly sought after for creating dramatic vertical accents and formal structure in UK gardens. Unlike the broader species, 'Totem' maintains a very slender, columnar habit without needing pruning, making it perfect for smaller spaces or where a strong architectural statement is desired. Its dense, dark green foliage provides year-round interest. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating drought once established. Ideal for lining avenues, flanking doorways, or as focal points in formal Mediterranean-style designs.

Sun: Full sun.

Soil: Well-drained.

Hardiness: H5 — down to −15°C.
