Swane's Golden Monterey Cypress 'Swanes Golden'

Cupressus macrocarpa 'Swane's Golden' is a vibrant evergreen conifer, celebrated for its compact, narrowly conical habit and brilliant golden-yellow, scale-like foliage that intensifies in colour with full sun exposure. This makes it an excellent choice for a bright vertical accent or specimen plant in sheltered UK gardens. It is moderately fast-growing, reaching an ultimate height of 5-8 metres with a spread of 1-1.5 metres. This cultivar thrives in full sun and prefers well-drained, neutral to acidic soils. It is hardy to H4, meaning it performs best in milder, coastal or protected inland areas, as it can be susceptible to damage from severe frosts and cold winds. Its luminous colour provides year-round cheer and contrast in the garden.
