Monterey Cypress
A fast-growing, medium to large evergreen conifer with a distinctive broad, spreading, and often windswept habit, especially when exposed to coastal conditions. Hardy (H4) but benefits from some shelter inland, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating dry conditions and salt spray. Often planted as a shelterbelt in coastal areas or as a striking specimen tree with an RHS AGM.
