Bhutan Cypress
A truly exquisite and graceful conifer, particularly valued for its exceptionally long, pendulous branchlets that hang in elegant curtains, creating a breathtaking weeping effect. It forms a medium to large, broadly conical tree, reaching an ultimate height of 15-20 metres with a spread of 5-8 metres. The scale-like foliage is a beautiful glaucous blue-green. It requires a very sheltered spot in full sun and moist, well-drained soil, ideally protected from cold winds and hard frosts. Hardy to H4, it is a magnificent specimen tree for a warm, protected garden, often seen in milder coastal regions of the UK.
