Pumpkin 'Small Sugar'

'Small Sugar' is a popular and classic pie pumpkin cultivar, producing small to medium-sized (2-3kg), round, deep orange fruits with sweet, finely-textured flesh ideal for baking, pies, and purees. The vigorous, sprawling vines can spread up to 3-4m, requiring ample space. It is an H1C hardy annual, thriving in full sun and rich, well-drained soil in the UK. Plant after the last frost. Requires plenty of water and nutrients for good fruit development. Harvest in autumn when the skin is hard and fully coloured. Also great for decorative purposes. Its delicious flesh makes it a more versatile choice than some of the larger carving pumpkins. Attracts pollinators.
