Courgette 'Romanesco'
'Romanesco' is a distinctive Italian courgette cultivar, famed for its ribbed, pale green fruits with an exquisite nutty flavour and firm texture. Unlike some courgettes, 'Romanesco' holds its flavour and texture well during cooking. The sprawling plant can reach 60-90cm in height and spread up to 1-1.5m, requiring ample space. It thrives in full sun and rich, well-drained soil, producing abundant harvests from early summer until the first frosts. 'Romanesco' is an H1C hardy plant, requiring protection from frost. Regular harvesting when the fruits are young (15-20cm) encourages further production. The large yellow flowers are also edible and delicious when stuffed or fried. Attracts pollinators.
