Squash 'Spaghetti Squash'

Spaghetti Squash is a fascinating and healthy winter squash, unique for its stringy, spaghetti-like flesh that develops after cooking. This medium-sized, oval-shaped fruit has a pale yellow skin when ripe and a mild, slightly nutty flavour. The vigorous trailing vines can spread up to 3-4 metres, requiring ample space or strong support. It thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, needing warmth to ripen its fruits. In the UK, 'Spaghetti Squash' is harvested in late summer to autumn and stores well, offering a low-carb alternative to pasta throughout winter. A truly interesting and versatile vegetable.
