Pumpkin 'Jack Be Little'

This charming adventurous vine produces miniaturised pumpkins that fit comfortably in the palm of a hand. Each fruit is deeply ribbed, bright orange, and weighs approximately 200-300g. Despite their diminutive size, they are fully edible, featuring a sweet, nutty flesh that is excellent when stuffed and roasted whole. The plants have a trailing habit, with vines reaching up to 2.5 metres, although they can be grown vertically up a sturdy trellis to save space in smaller UK gardens. 'Jack Be Little' is a prolific producer, with each plant capable of yielding up to 10 to 15 fruits. The fruits are famous for their excellent storage life, often lasting for several months if cured properly in the sun. Given the UK's short growing season, it is best started indoors in April and moved out after the last frosts. They require a sunny, sheltered site and plenty of water during the fruiting period.
