Japanese Cedar 'Dragon Prince'

Dragon Prince Japanese Cedar is a captivating dwarf evergreen conifer, forming a dense, upright, narrowly conical habit with distinctly spirally arranged, deep green awl-shaped needles that acquire bronze-purple tones in winter. This makes it a superb choice for rock gardens, small borders, or containers in UK gardens. It is a slow-growing cultivar, typically reaching an ultimate height of 1-1.5 metres with a spread of 0.6-1 metre in 10 years. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soils. It is fully hardy, rated H6 by the RHS, and benefits from a sheltered position to protect its winter foliage from harsh winds, which can cause scorching. Offers exceptional texture and year-round colour.
