Tickseed 'Grandiflora'

Coreopsis verticillata 'Grandiflora' (sometimes sold as 'Golden Gain') is a reliable and hard-working perennial that provides a carpet of bright colour for many months. It is distinguished by its fine, almost needle-like, bright green foliage, which forms a dense, bushy mound. Throughout the summer and early autumn, it is covered in a mass of starry, golden-yellow daisy-like flowers. This cultivar is slightly taller and has larger flowers than 'Moonbeam' or 'Zagreb', typically reaching about 60cm in height. It is a tough and resilient plant that is drought-tolerant once established and thrives in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. It is fully hardy (H5) and easy to care for, requiring little more than deadheading to prolong the flowering season and cutting back to the ground in late winter. Because of its fine texture and prolific blooming, it is an excellent choice for a cottage garden, a sunny border, or even as an informal flowering hedge. It is highly attractive to pollinators and a real workhorse in the summer garden.
