Larkspur 'Giant Imperial Mix'
'Giant Imperial Mix' is a tall, stately Larkspur variety that provides the look of perennial Delphiniums but in a much easier-to-grow annual form. This mix produces vertical spikes densely packed with double flowers in shades of dark blue, light blue, pink, white, and lilac. Reaching heights of up to 120cm, it is a superb plant for the back of the border and is highly prized as a cut flower. In the UK, Larkspur is best sown directly where it is to grow, either in September for an early summer display or in March/April for flowers later in the season. They have a preference for cooler conditions and don't like being moved. The stems are strong but may require some staking in exposed UK gardens. These plants are H4 hardy and very reliable. They also produce excellent petals for making natural, biodegradable wedding confetti, which is a popular use for them in the UK.
