White Rock Rose 'Corbariensis'

A compact, mound-forming evergreen shrub that is one of the hardiest of all Cistus cultivars for the UK climate. It features small, wavy-edged, dark green leaves that provide year-round interest. In early summer, it is literally covered in a profuse display of red-tinted buds that open into pure white, saucer-shaped flowers with a central cluster of yellow stamens. Each flower lasts only a day, but they are produced in such large numbers that the plant remains in bloom for several weeks. This cultivar is particularly valued for its reliability and neat habit, reaching around 60-80cm in height. It thrives in poor, well-drained soil and requires a sheltered, sunny spot to perform its best. Like most rock roses, it is drought-tolerant and benefits from light pruning after flowering to keep it tidy, though it should not be cut back into old wood. It is an ideal plant for rockeries, coastal gardens, and front-of-border placements.
