Silk floss tree

While a stunning tree in warmer climates, the Silk Floss tree is not reliably hardy in most of the UK. It features a spiny trunk, often swollen at the base, and beautiful pink or purple orchid-like flowers in autumn. In the UK, it is best grown in a large conservatory or as a container plant that can be protected indoors during winter.
