Woven Bamboo

This unique running bamboo is distinctive for its square-shaped culms, especially noticeable on mature specimens, which are an attractive dark green. It has an upright, architectural habit, reaching 3-5m in height with a spread of 2-4m. While technically running, it is not as aggressively invasive as some Phyllostachys species, but a root barrier is still recommended. It is hardy in sheltered parts of the UK (H4) and thrives in partial shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil. 'Woven Bamboo' makes an intriguing specimen plant, adding structural interest and an unusual textural element to the garden.
