Cypress 'Golden Mop'

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Golden Mop' (also known as 'Filifera Aurea' in some contexts) is a delightful dwarf conifer, highly valued for its vibrant golden-yellow, thread-like foliage. It forms a dense, mounding, somewhat pendulous shape, creating a cascading 'mop-head' appearance. This slow-growing cultivar typically reaches a height of 1-1.5m with a similar spread over 10-15 years, making it an excellent choice for rock gardens, containers, or as a bright accent in borders. The intense golden colour is maintained year-round, providing a cheerful splash of warmth, especially when grown in full sun. It thrives in moist, well-drained soil, adding fine texture and a radiant glow to the garden.
