Nootka Cypress 'Glauca'

Chamaecyparis nootkatensis 'Glauca' is a majestic cultivar of the Nootka Cypress, featuring a stately, narrowly conical habit with distinctly pendulous branchlets. Its striking feature is the beautiful, glaucous blue-grey, scale-like foliage that provides year-round colour and elegance. It is a vigorous grower, eventually reaching an ultimate height of 15-20 metres with a spread of 4-6 metres, though it can be kept smaller. Fully hardy (H7), it thrives in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soil. It is more tolerant of exposed conditions than some other Chamaecyparis. An excellent choice as a specimen tree or for creating a dramatic screen, offering strong vertical interest.
