Lawson Cypress 'Minima Glauca'
A classic and venerable dwarf conifer, 'Minima Glauca' is a slow-growing, globose shrub that eventually becomes more broad and flat-topped with age. It features dense, soft-textured, sea-blue foliage arranged in tight, vertical sprays. It is an ideal plant for the UK rock garden, providing a steady, cool-coloured presence year-round. Growing only a few centimetres a year, it is perfectly suited for smaller gardens or for growing in alpine troughs and containers. It is fully hardy and generally easy to care for, though like many Lawson Cypresses, it prefers a site that is not too waterlogged or excessively dry. It does best in a position with some shelter from the strongest winds in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Its tidy, self-contained habit means it requires no pruning. This is a dependable, timeless conifer that offers subtle colour and a neat, pleasing form to any planting scheme.
