Japanese Quince 'Geisha Girl'

Chaenomeles speciosa 'Geisha Girl' is a captivating deciduous shrub, admired for its abundant display of semi-double, apricot-pink flowers that emerge in early spring, often before the leaves. Growing to a height and spread of about 1.2-1.5 metres, it creates a spreading, somewhat thorny bush, ideal for an informal hedge, wall shrub, or specimen plant in UK gardens. The vibrant blooms are followed by aromatic, apple-like fruits which can be used for jellies and preserves. 'Geisha Girl' is exceptionally hardy and adaptable, thriving in full sun to partial shade and tolerating a wide range of well-drained soils, including heavy clay. It's a low-maintenance plant, providing early spring cheer.
