Deodar Cedar 'Karl Fuchs'
Cedrus deodara 'Karl Fuchs' is a distinctive cultivar of the majestic Deodar Cedar, known for its strong, upright habit and remarkable blue-green foliage. Unlike the species, 'Karl Fuchs' maintains a more compact and narrowly conical form, making it a better choice for gardens with limited space, though it will still achieve a significant size over time, potentially reaching 10-15m in height with a spread of 3-5m. It displays good vigour and excellent hardiness, thriving in full sun and well-drained soil. The needles are a striking steel-blue, providing year-round colour and architectural interest. This particular cultivar offers a refined presence in the landscape and is less prone to the sprawling habit that some Deodar Cedars exhibit in maturity. It's a superb specimen plant.
