Cyprian Cedar cultivar 'Kenwith'

'Kenwith' is an exceptional dwarf cultivar of the rare Cyprian Cedar, originally found as a witch's broom. It is a true miniature tree, growing very slowly with a compact, irregular, and upright habit. The needles are very short, stiff, and a dark, glaucous green, arranged in tight clusters on the branches. It has the appearance of a centuries-old cedar but in a fraction of the size, making it a perfect 'conifer for collectors' or a prize specimen for a small garden or alpine trough. It is fully hardy (H6) and, once established, is very drought-tolerant. It requires excellent drainage and a site in full sun to maintain its health and compact structure. It is one of those plants that only gets better with age, developing a gnarled, architectural character. This is a choice plant for anyone looking to incorporate the majesty of a cedar into a space where a full-sized tree would be impossible. It is highly resistant to pests.

Sun: Full sun.

Soil: Well-drained, sandy or gravelly soil.

Hardiness: H6 — down to −20°C.
