Alpine Sedge

A neat and distinctive evergreen sedge, Carex montana forms dense tussocks of fine-textured, dark green foliage, softening the edges of rock gardens or pathways. In spring, subtle brown flower spikes emerge. Growing to 20-30cm high and wide, it provides excellent year-round structure. Fully hardy (H7), it is adaptable to full sun or partial shade and prefers moist but well-drained soil. Its understated beauty and resilience make it a valuable textural addition to alpine schemes.
