Canna Lily / Indian Shot Plant 'Taney'
Canna 'Taney' is a beautiful and somewhat more refined Canna cultivar, often categorised as a 'longwood' hybrid. It is particularly noted for its elegant, slender flowers that are a soft, luminous shade of apricot-orange. Unlike some of its more garish relatives, 'Taney' has a more subtle, sophisticated charm. The foliage is a clean, bright green, providing a fresh backdrop for the warm-toned blooms. This variety is also known for being more tolerant of wet conditions than many other Cannas, sometimes even grown as a marginal aquatic in very warm summers, though it performs excellently in standard garden borders. It typically grows to a height of 120-150cm. As a tender tuberous perennial (H3), it must be lifted and stored for the winter in a frost-free environment. It requires a sunny, sheltered position and thrives with plenty of heat, water, and regular feeding. Its architectural form and graceful flowers make it a standout choice for tropical-style planting schemes.
