Chinese Trumpet Vine
A less vigorous and slightly hardier species than C. radicans, the Chinese Trumpet Vine produces stunning, wide, trumpet-shaped, orange-red flowers. It is a deciduous climber, clinging by aerial roots, reaching 6-8m in height with a spread of 2-3m. Hardy in sheltered areas (H4), it needs full sun and a warm, south or west-facing position to flower well. Prefers fertile, moist but well-drained soil. A truly spectacular plant for covering strong supports, bringing an exotic flair to the garden in late summer.
