Trailing Bellflower 'Lisduggan Variety'
Campanula poscharskyana 'Lisduggan Variety' is a vigorous and reliable perennial that is perfect for the larger rock garden or for wall crevices. Unlike the standard species, this cultivar is valued for its distinct star-shaped flowers that appear in a soft, lavender-pink hue rather than the typical blue. It has a low-growing, trailing habit, with stems that can spread quite rapidly to form a dense carpet of small, heart-shaped, mid-green leaves. It is remarkably versatile, thriving in a variety of conditions from full sun to partial shade, and is often used to colonise difficult areas where other plants might struggle. In the UK, it is highly regarded for its long flowering season and its ability to withstand relatively poor soils. It is very hardy and can be quite assertive, so it should be placed where it has room to roam or where its spread can be naturally contained. It is an excellent choice for a low-maintenance 'wilder' alpine look or for softening the base of a stone wall.
