Calendula 'Art Shades'
Calendula, or Pot Marigold, is a cheerful and versatile annual herb, gracing UK gardens with its bright, sunny orange or yellow daisy-like flowers. Easy to grow from seed, it blooms profusely from early summer until the first frosts, providing continuous colour. It typically reaches 30-60cm in height, forming a bushy plant. While technically an annual (H3), it readily self-seeds, often reappearing reliably year after year. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. The petals are edible, used in salads for colour and a mild peppery flavour, and are also known for their traditional skin-soothing properties. Deadhead regularly to encourage more blooms.
