Siberian Bugloss 'Sea Heart'

Brunnera macrophylla 'Sea Heart' is a stunning shade-tolerant perennial that is an improvement on older varieties like 'Jack Frost'. It is distinguished by its incredibly thick, heart-shaped leaves that are almost entirely silver with a narrow green edge and intricate green veining. The texture of the foliage is notably leathery, which makes it more resilient to heat and humidity than other Brunneras. In spring, it produces charming sprays of tiny, bright blue flowers that resemble Forget-me-nots, providing a beautiful contrast to the silver foliage. This plant is ideal for lighting up dark corners of the garden or for use as a premium groundcover under shrubs and trees. It prefers a cool, moist soil and will scorch if placed in direct afternoon sun. In the UK, it is highly valued for its architectural leaf form and its ability to look good from spring right through to the first frosts. It is very hardy and generally avoided by slugs.
