Turnip 'Snowball'

'Snowball' is a popular and fast-maturing turnip cultivar, producing smooth, round, pure white roots with crisp, tender flesh and a sweet, delicate flavour. It's excellent eaten raw, roasted, or steamed. The plants grow to about 20-30cm tall and wide. 'Snowball' is H6 hardy, making it a good choice for multi-season growing in the UK. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Sow successional crops from spring to late summer for a continuous supply. Harvest when tennis-ball sized for best flavour and texture. Young leaves can also be eaten as greens. A quick and rewarding crop, offering versatility in the kitchen.
