Broccoli Raab

Broccoli Raab (Brassica rapa subsp. rapa (Ruvo Group)), also known as Rapini, is a leafy green vegetable with a slightly bitter, pungent flavour. It produces small, broccoli-like heads, edible leaves, and stems. This fast-growing annual reaches an ultimate height of 40cm and a spread of 30cm. It can be sown successionally from spring to autumn, maturing quickly in 4-6 weeks. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Small yellow flowers appear relatively quickly, so harvest before they fully open. A popular ingredient in Italian cuisine and a quick crop.
