Kale 'Cavolo Nero'
Kale 'Cavolo Nero' (also known as Black Tuscan Kale or Lacinato Kale) is a striking, non-heading Italian heirloom variety with deeply savoyed, dark blue-green leaves. It offers excellent flavour, especially after a frost. Reaching an ultimate height of 90cm and spread of 60cm, this very hardy biennial (H7) is typically grown as an annual. Sow in spring for harvesting from autumn through winter. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Its robust nature makes it an excellent 'cut-and-come-again' crop, providing nutritious greens throughout the colder months.
