Perennial Kale 'Taunton Deane'

'Taunton Deane' is a fantastic perennial kale, offering a continuous harvest of tender, flavourful leaves for several years. This vigorous, branching plant can reach an impressive 1.5-2m in height and spread up to 1m, forming a substantial bush. Its leaves are typically green, sometimes with purple tinges, and have a rich, sweet flavour, especially after a frost. 'Taunton Deane' is remarkably hardy (H7), enduring harsh UK winters with ease. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it requires minimal maintenance. Propagated by cuttings, it rarely flowers or sets seed. An excellent choice for a sustainable, productive vegetable garden with high wildlife value for pollinators when it does eventually flower.
