Kale 'Nero di Toscana'
Kale 'Nero di Toscana', also known as 'Cavolo Nero' or 'Dinosaur Kale', is a highly fashionable and nutritious Italian heirloom kale, celebrated for its long, strap-like, heavily crinkled, dark blue-green leaves. This architectural plant can reach up to 90cm in height and 60cm in spread, creating an upright, almost palm-like effect. It is exceptionally hardy, with its flavour deepening after a frost. 'Nero di Toscana' thrives in full sun and firm, fertile, well-drained soil, providing a continuous harvest from autumn through winter and into spring. Its robust flavour makes it excellent for classic Italian dishes, soups, and stir-fries.
