Kohlrabi 'White Vienna'

'White Vienna' is a classic kohlrabi cultivar, forming pale green to white, globe-shaped bulbs (swollen stems) above ground. It offers a crisp texture and a mild, slightly nutty flavour, akin to a mix of turnip and cabbage. The plant typically grows to 30-40cm tall with a similar spread. 'White Vienna' is H6 hardy, making it well-suited to the UK climate. It thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Sow little and often from spring to late summer for a continuous harvest. Best eaten young and tender when the bulbs are 5-8cm in diameter to avoid toughness. Can be used raw in salads or cooked. An easy-to-grow and versatile brassica.
