Kohlrabi 'Kolibri'
'Kolibri' is a distinctive purple kohlrabi cultivar known for its vibrant colour, crisp texture, and sweet, turnip-like flavour, without the pungency often associated with brassicas. The swollen, above-ground stems are the edible part, typically reaching 10-15cm in diameter. The plant itself grows to about 30cm tall with a similar spread. 'Kolibri' is an H6 hardy vegetable, making it suitable for UK growth. It thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil, producing harvests quickly, usually within 60 days of planting. Best eaten young and tender, either raw in salads or lightly cooked. Successional sowing every few weeks will ensure a continuous supply. An attractive and easy-to-grow brassica.
