White Cabbage 'Minicole'

'Minicole' is an outstanding F1 hybrid 'ballhead' cabbage, specifically bred for its versatility and incredibly long standing period in the garden. It produces very firm, dense, medium-sized heads with a crisp, white interior. One of its best features is that it can be harvested from late summer all the way through to winter without the heads splitting. The flavor is mild and sweet, making it perfect for coleslaws, salads, or cooking. 'Minicole' is also known for its excellent storage potential; heads can be kept in a cool, dark place for several months after harvest. The plants have a compact habit, allowing for closer spacing than many other cabbage varieties, which is a significant advantage for those with limited space. It requires a firm, fertile soil and, like most brassicas, benefits from a high-nitrogen feed. Netting against cabbage white butterflies is strongly recommended. It is a reliable and trouble-free variety for the modern UK vegetable plot.
