Kale 'Red Russian'

Red Russian Kale (Brassica napus var. pabularia 'Red Russian') is a highly ornamental and edible kale, featuring flat, deeply lobed, blue-green leaves with purple-red stems and veins, which intensify in colour in colder weather. It has a sweet, tender flavour. This hardy biennial (H6), typically grown as an annual, reaches an ultimate height of 75cm and a spread of 60cm. Sow in spring for harvesting from autumn through winter. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and fertile, well-drained soil. Its beautiful appearance makes it suitable for ornamental borders as well as vegetable plots. A delicious and visually appealing winter green.
