Blue Fountain Bamboo 'Shiroshima'

Borinda papyrifera 'Shiroshima' is a truly exceptional and beautiful clump-forming bamboo, highly prized in UK gardens for its stunning, thick culms that are covered in a striking powdery white bloom, giving them a distinctive blue-white hue. This non-invasive bamboo forms a graceful, upright, and arching clump of canes that are topped with delicate, dark green foliage, creating an elegant fountain-like display. It makes a superb specimen plant, where its unique culm colour can be fully appreciated. It thrives in a sheltered position in partial shade with moist, well-drained soil, protected from strong, drying winds which can diminish its waxy bloom. Young plants might need winter protection.
