Hardy Blue Bamboo

This stunning clump-forming bamboo is admired for its graceful, arching culms that mature to an attractive powdery blue-grey, especially evident in strong light. It forms a dense, evergreen clump, reaching 3-5m in height and 2-3m in spread. 'Hardy Blue Bamboo' is relatively new to cultivation in the UK but has proven to be hardy (H4-H5) in sheltered positions. It thrives in partial shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil. Its non-invasive nature makes it an excellent choice for a dramatic specimen, an elegant screen, or for adding architectural interest to a border. The blue culms provide a sophisticated contrast with its green foliage.
