Himalayan Weeping Bamboo

This elegant clump-forming bamboo is admired for its very slender, arching culms that take on a lovely blue-purple hue in good sunlight, creating a delicate, weeping effect. It forms a graceful mound, typically growing to 3-5m in height and 2-3m in spread. While generally hardy in milder parts of the UK (H4), it benefits from a sheltered position from cold, drying winds. It thrives in partial shade with humus-rich, moist, well-drained soil. 'Borinda boliana' makes a stunning specimen plant or an elegant addition to a mixed border, offering subtle colour and evergreen texture without being invasive.
