Chinese Red Birch
A beautiful medium-sized deciduous tree renowned for its stunning, peeling coppery-orange to reddish-brown bark, which exfoliates to reveal creamy white new bark beneath, providing exceptional winter interest. It grows to 10-15m tall with an elegant, upright to spreading habit. The leaves are ovate, turning yellow in autumn. Fully hardy (H6), it prefers a position in full sun to partial shade and thrives in moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soil. A superb ornamental birch, perfect as a specimen tree for its year-round bark display.
